Key Rules & Validations

⛔ You can’t:

  • Add more than 3 blocks

  • Use back-to-back blocks of the same type (e.g., General ➔ General)

  • Overlap block times

  • You cannot post General only shifts for more than 16 hours, but this rule does not apply if the shift has more than 1 block or for sleep-ins.

✔ The system will:

  • Auto-calculate total duration across all blocks

  • Allow Sleep-In “wake-up” time to be logged by the agencies at the timesheet level when submitting (counted as General hours for pay)

Skills & Worker Matching

When you post a multi-block job:

  • The skills you select apply to the entire shift, including any Sleep-In blocks

  • Matching, filtering, and visibility use the selected skills across all blocks

  • This ensures the right workers are matched, even for blended shifts

How Pay Is Calculated

Each block is billed separately based on its type:

Block Type How Pay Is Calculated
General Hourly (based on day, time, enhancements, etc.)
Sleep-In Fixed or hourly rate (based on agreement)
Sleep-In Wake-Up Paid at General hourly rate (if worker awake >15 mins; timesheet-based)

Timesheets
When submitting timesheets now you can see the split between blocks and even record waking time for sleepin jobs. If the workers sleep is interrupted by calling them back to the job, invoices will get adjusted based on waking hours cost.

FAQs

Q: Can I post more than 3 shift blocks?
Not currently—up to 3 blocks per job is supported.

Q: Can I add skills to only the Sleep-In portion?
No — all skills apply to the full shift. Sleep-In blocks inherit skills selected for the job as a whole.

Q: Can I reuse these blocks for recurring patterns?
Yes — set the recurrence (weekly or monthly) and define an end date or number of occurrences.
