Manage Employee Leaves

Overview of how you can use the leaves tab to approve leaves, reject leaves or apply for leaves on behalf of your worker.

Managing employee leaves can be a complex and time-consuming task.

Ensuring adequate coverage and maintaining a smooth workflow while accommodating employee leave is definitely a cumbersome challenge. 


1. The Care Hires app will provide workers easy-accessibility to request for leave in just a few clicks.

2. Once the leave is requested, the care home manager will receive a notification via email.

3. You can click the link in the email notification or navigate to the Leaves module on the Care Rota platform. To view a demonstration click here.

  • The Leaves module will open to the Summary of Leaves section. This summary listed by employee names, will provide an overview of monthly leaves taken by each worker. Adjust the toggle at the top of the page to filter leave requests based on care home. 

 

To approve or reject leaves, navigate to the Pending Leave Requests section.

  • This section will provide an overview of each leave request corresponding with the employee’s name, requested dates, type of leave, and reason etc. 

1. Filter the leave requests by adjusting the care home toggle at the top of the page.

2. You can also filter by employee name or email using the search box located on the right-hand panel.

3. Select either to Approve or Reject the leave request and the employee will receive an email and app notification accordingly. 

4. If a leave request is Approved, the employee will be depicted as unavailable on the shift overview of an open shift.

 

  • If an employee does not have access to the Care Hires app, you can also request for leave on behalf of him/ her. Simply select the Add Leave button on the top-right of this section and input the requested information. Once completed, click the Add Leave button. 


To view a list of former approved or rejected leaves, click the Leave Request History tab on your top left.
