How to manage Block Booked shifts?

How does Block Booking help you?

Block Booking enables you to select preferred workers during job allocation. These workers represent those that have been requested by the care provider when you are selected as one of the preferred agencies by the provider.

Here, the preferred workers are prioritised and displayed at the top of the eligible workers’ list during the job worker allocation process.

How to Access Shifts with Block Booking?

  • Login to your Care Hires account.
  • Go to your Job section.
  • View the detailed job overview for a Block booking-enabled job.
  • You can easily identify these with the bb tag displayed in the job list view.

The care provider can use the block booking feature in two ways.

  1. To select preferred workers from a specific agency.
  2. To select a preferred agency from which they can expect any worker.

  • When the care provider has a list of preferred workers, you can see a request on the eligible list. Keep in mind that this list prioritises the requested workers.

  • If the care provider does not have any preferred workers but chooses you as their preferred agency, the list of ALL workers will appear.

* Please note that if a preferred worker is already allocated to another shift during the same period, the Suggest button is disabled, allowing users to reallocate workers as needed.

Ability to Withdraw/Decline Block Booked Workers

Agencies can withdraw booked workers from specific jobs using the Decline Booked Workers button on the shift overview window.

  • Please note that declining the request DOES NOT mean that the shift is rejected. It is to simply decline the suggestions for workers requested by the provider through the block booking. Upon declining a request for block booked workers, you may still suggest other workers who are eligible for the shift.

These features collectively offer enhanced control, flexibility, and efficiency in scheduling and job allocation processes within the Care Hires platform.
