When a worker in your General Workforce is suspended
You are now emailed when Care Hires suspends one of your General Workforce profiles, so you are not left wondering why a worker can no longer be booked.
Occasionally Care Hires suspends a worker profile in your General Workforce. The usual reason is that the worker is being set up with a new agency, which needs their existing profile releasing first, and it happens at the request of either the worker or the agency involved.
Until now this happened quietly, and the first you knew about it was a worker who could no longer be booked. You now receive an email when it happens.
The email you receive
The email is titled A worker in your General Workforce has been suspended. It tells you that Care Hires has suspended the profile at the request of the worker or the agency, and that the worker can no longer be booked.
It goes to the same people who already receive suspension notifications from Care Hires.
What it means for you
The suspended profile can no longer be booked onto shifts. Anything already in place for that worker is affected in the same way as any other suspension, so the first thing to do is check your rota for upcoming shifts they were covering and arrange cover where you need it.
Suspension does not remove your record of the worker. It stops the profile being used going forward.
What to do next
- Check your upcoming shifts for anything allocated to that worker.
- Arrange cover for any shifts affected.
- If you were not expecting the suspension, speak to the worker, as these requests normally come from them.
If something looks wrong
You did not expect the worker to be suspended. Speak to the worker first, as suspensions of this kind are usually made at their request so they can be set up elsewhere. If that does not explain it, get in touch with the Care Hires support team.
You need the worker back on your books. Get in touch with the Care Hires support team, as a suspension of this kind is not something you can reverse from your own account.
You received no email but a worker cannot be booked. Check the worker's status on their profile first, as there are other reasons a worker may be unavailable, including compliance that has lapsed.
If something still does not look right, get in touch with the Care Hires support team with the worker's name and the date you noticed the change.
