Managing your Leaves via the Worker Mobile App
Need some time off? The Leaves section of the Worker Mobile App is where you check how much leave you've got left, submit a new request, and keep an eye on how your requests are getting on.
Checking your Leave Balance
From your Home screen, tap Leaves under Quick Actions.
This takes you to your Leaves overview, showing your name, your contract start date, and your worker type. Below that, the Leave Availability Breakdown shows the current leave year and how your hours stack up across each leave type you're entitled to. Not all of these will necessarily apply to you. You'll simply see the ones relevant to your contract, which may include:
- Annual Leave
- Casual Leave
- Sick Leave
- Industrial Injury Leave
- Compassionate Leave
For each one, you'll see your total hours, how many you've used, and how many you've still got available.
From here, you can tap View Leave History to see your past requests, or New Leave Request to ask for some time off.
Requesting Leave
Tap New Leave Request to get started, then fill in the following:
- Leave Type — choose the type of leave you're requesting, such as Annual Leave.
- Leave Compensation — choose whether it's Paid or Unpaid.
- Reason for Leave — add a short note if you'd like to (this is optional).
- Supporting Materials — attach a document if you have one to support your request, such as an appointment letter.
- Leave Duration — choose Single Day if you only need one day off, or Multiple Days if you need a longer stretch.
If you choose Single Day, select the date, then set the time you'll be away for and mark your availability for the rest of that day. If you choose Multiple Days, select your start and end dates, and you'll be able to set the time and availability separately for each day in that range.
Note: If your requested time clashes with a shift, timesheet, or another leave request already on your schedule, you'll see a View Conflict/s warning. Tap it to see exactly what's clashing before you decide whether to go ahead.
Once everything looks right, tap Submit Request.
Tracking your Leave Requests
Tap View Leave History from the Leaves screen to keep an eye on your requests. There are two tabs:
- New Requests — leave requests that are still awaiting a decision.
- Request History — requests that have already been Approved or Rejected.
Tap any request to see its full details, including the date, time and duration of each day requested, your reason for the leave, and — once it's been actioned — who reviewed it, when, and, if it was rejected, why.
Note: If you need to update or withdraw a leave request, you won't be able to do this yourself in the app — get in touch with your agency's admin team and they'll help.
Tips for Managing your Leaves
- Check your balance before you request. The Leave Availability Breakdown shows exactly how many hours you've got left in each category, so you don't overcommit.
- Watch out for conflicts. If you see the View Conflict/s warning, take a look before submitting — it might mean you need to double-check your schedule first.
- Attach supporting documents where you can. It helps your agency review and approve your request more quickly.
- Keep an eye on Request History so you know as soon as a decision's been made.
