How to check for conflicts with existing jobs or leave

The system automatically flags conflicts when a leave request overlaps with scheduled jobs or other approved leaves to help you avoid rota gaps or payroll issues.

When conflicts happen:

  • You’ll see a warning message before saving.
  • Conflict types include:
    • Shift already assigned during requested period
    • Another leave already approved or pending
    • Worker is marked unavailable

What you can do:

  • Adjust the leave dates or times
  • Cancel the overlapping shift if appropriate
  • Proceed with approval if the conflict is acceptable

Tip: Always review the rota after adding leave to double-check downstream impact.
