Bringing a former SCM worker back onto your books
Move a worker whose Care Hires profile is denied, suspended, archived or inactive into whichever of your own statuses you need, without creating them again from scratch.
A worker whose Care Hires profile is denied, suspended, archived or inactive may still be somebody you want on your own books. Perhaps their verification did not go through but they work your direct client shifts, or they were archived a while ago and have come back to you.
Until now that meant building the worker again from nothing, re-entering details and re-uploading documents you already held. You can now move that existing profile into any of your own Agency Accelerator statuses instead.
Before you begin
- This applies to workers whose Care Hires profile is Denied, Suspended, Archived or approved but inactive.
- You can choose any of your own statuses, including Active, Deactivated and Archived. You are not limited to activating them.
- Moving a profile to one of your statuses does not change its Care Hires status. A worker needs Care Hires verification before they can take Care Hires jobs.
Moving the profile into one of your statuses
- In the left hand menu, select Employees and open the worker.
- Change their status to the one you need.

The worker keeps their existing profile, including the information and documents already held against them, so there is nothing to re-enter.
The check that runs when you activate
When you activate a profile that was denied or suspended, their National Insurance number and email address are checked first. This is because a suspended profile sometimes holds adjusted details that would stop the worker being set up properly.
If something needs fixing, a message tells you which field is the problem and gives you two choices:
- Edit profile opens the profile so you can correct it. Activation does not happen on its own once you have saved, so come back and activate the worker afterwards.
- I'll activate later closes the message and leaves everything as it was.

This check exists so that no profile goes live with details that will cause problems later, for example when inviting the worker to the app.
If something looks wrong
You are told the National Insurance number or email is not valid. Open the profile, correct the field named in the message, save, then activate the worker.
You corrected the details but the worker is still not active. Activation does not run automatically after saving. Go back to the profile and set the status yourself.
You cannot save the corrected details. The same checks that apply when creating a worker still apply here, so the National Insurance number and email must not already be in use on another profile.
The worker is active but cannot be allocated to Care Hires jobs. Their Care Hires status has not changed. Submit them for Care Hires verification to open those jobs up.
If something still does not look right, get in touch with the Care Hires support team with the worker's name and the status you are trying to move them to.
